....Plum
Island and the Parker River Refuge - located on
the North Shore of Massachusetts
about 30 miles from Boston. It is a small coastal community that blends
typical New England charm with the opportunity to bird-watch and hike on
a protected national refuge. Plum Island is a naturalist's dream. Being
on the migratory route of a large number of bird species, it attracts birders
from all over the country. The Parker River Wildlife Refuge is an ideal
place to spend some time walking its nature trails or exploring its tidal
pools.
