TYPE R or TYPE S ??by David Marasco Some
time ago I had a lot of several thousand precancelled one cent small queen
of various types and while sorting them picked out a series of examples
of types R and S which show the continuum between the two types. I have
seen two blocks of 6 offered for sale in the last 20 years, one of which
was recently sold in the Lussey sale, which clearly show that types R and
S were produced by the same roller.
.... So the question arises: Are types R and S really sub varieties of one type or two different types? |
| The following 12 samples show the gradual variation between the central waves of types R and S. Where do you draw the line? |
